Saturday 19th August - The Adventure comes to an end.

We were awake before the 5:45am call, and we would disembark at 6:30am. Packed and dressed in our bike gear with lots of warm under garments as the forecast in Devonport was for clear skies and 1deg. Luckily we only had a 20 minute ride home. A quick chat with the other boys, then the call came to go to our vehicles. Off the ferry into a crisp Tasmanian morning with the 1st rays of light colouring the eastern sky. A quick, cold ride home, we ere greeted by our 3 dogs and our house-sitter, it was good to be home after nearly 11 weeks on the bike.

With thanks to my two mates Andrew and Clint, and my wife Hilaire for her support, I had travelled through every Australian state and territory, seen the most Northerly and Westerly points of the Australian continent, seen some fabulous places, and some very barren areas. I had seen kangaroos, crocodiles, buffalo, emus, quokka, camel, wild pigs and brumbies. Just about every Australian bird species, whales and dolphins and seals. And to top it off, I had finished it with my wonderful wife as my pillion.
So after 20,513 kms, I'm ready to give the bike a rest for a while...... At least until next weekend anyway.

Thanks for following me and my two mates Andrew and Clint.
